2024 Tri-County Juried Exhibition

This year's annual Tri-County Juried Exhibition is themed "To Be Honest...[tbh]." The juror was Walter Maciel of the Walter Maciel Gallery in Culver City, CA. Maciel reviewed more than 400 submissions from 176 local artists, ultimately selecting 45 works by 43 artists for the exhibition. He is well known for showing art that is edgy, youthful, creative, and often untraditional. All the pieces in TBH are for sale, with 30% of proceeds benefiting the Museum.

We are pleased to announce next year's theme and juror...the 2025 Tri-County Juried Exhibition will be themed On The Edge and the juror will be Adam Belt - San Diego based artist and educator.
2024 Juror: Walter Maciel - Gallerist/Owner - Walter Maciel Gallery, Los Angeles, CA
Theme: "To Be Honest...[TBH]" This is up to your individual interpretation – you may choose to illustrate the theme literally, symbolically, etc.
How to Submit Your Artwork: Artwork submissions will be accepted online beginning March 11 and ending on April 11, 2024. On the submission form, all fields highlighted in yellow must be filled out. Entry fees must be paid online at the time of entry using a Visa or MasterCard through our secure site.
Images: You will have the ability to upload a single digital image of each work entered.
Files must be submitted in a JPG format with a maximum file size of 1 MB (smaller files are encouraged).
Final Deadline for Submission: Thursday, April 11 – 5 pm (PST)
Eligibility: This exhibition is only open to artists living and working in the San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties.
Media: Most media accepted, including video art and digital painting. Sorry we do not accept non-original reproductions, AI generated artwork, or installation art. Work must be wired for hanging and ready to show in the gallery. 3D work must be "turn-key" and ready to install.
Size Restrictions: 36” maximum width, 84” maximum height, including frame. 3D works can be up to 3' x 3' x 7'. Works exceeding 36” in width will not be considered for the exhibition and will be excluded from the jury process.
Entry Fee: Artists may submit up to three works and the fees are as follows: $25 for the first entry, $10 for each additional entry. Fee for 2nd and 3rd entry is waived for 2023-24 Museum members. Artists who join the Museum with their submissions will be members for the 2023-2024 season (Click here for more information about Museum membership).
Sales: All artwork must be available for sale. The Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art will receive 30% of all sales.
Selection Notification: After the deadline, applicants will be notified whether or not they were accepted via email when the juror has made their selections.
